Originally named Caritas Ballet. It was founded in 1976 by Sunny T. Sistyawati-Pranata with the Russian Vaganova style as the basic teaching method until now.

In 1985, Caritas Ballet became a founder member of IPPB (Ikatan Pengajar & Pelatih Ballet / Ballet Teachers & Instructors Association). In 2008, Caritas Ballet joined as a member of ATOD (Australian Teachers of Dancing) until now and become a Member of the International Dance Council (CID) and Institutional membership at Dance and the Child International (daCi) in 2026.
